Arabian toad-headed agama (Phrynocephalus arabicus) in the Desert
The Arabian toad-headed agama (Phrynocephalus arabicus) is a member of the Agamidae family, also known as the chisel-teeth lizards due to the compressed, fused teeth being firmly attached to the upper jaw, unlike most other lizards which have loosely attached teeth. He was posing close to a flower in the Desert of Sharjah, United Arab Emirates. He was hunting flies and was not disturb at all by my presence giving me the opportunity to take this close-up shot.

Traditional Arabic Dhows in the wild fjord of Musandam
Khasab is a city in an exclave of Oman bordering the United Arab Emirates. It is the local capital of the Musandam peninsula and has frequently been dubbed the “Norway of Arabia” because of its extensive fjord-like craggy inlets and desolate mountainscapes. It is located about 550 km from Muscat and less than 200 km from Dubai. It has a population of 20,000 residents. It is also a popular weekend destination for people living in the Emirates and for many other tourists for a visit of the Fjords on traditional Dhows and see dolphins.

Hidden beach near the calaanque of Sugiton. South of France, Europe
The Calanque de Sugiton is one of the numerous calanques located between Marseille and Cassis. While quite small, Sugiton is perhaps the most known of all Marseille Calanques, simply because it can be easily accessed by hikers, starting from Luminy University Campus, and because it is open to tourists even during hot season, unlike most Calanques. In fact during summer most of the Calanques are closed because of high fire risk. A small beach can be found at the extremity of the calanque.

Pink Rock, Sharjah Emirates, UAE 🇦🇪
Pink Rock (Sharjah Emirates and not Dubai) is part of the ridge which runs from Ras Al Khaimah to Al Ain. All along this ridge, in one specific and distinct layer, the same type of fossils can be found. However, they are not always easily accessible or even visible. If you have a sharp eye and are lucky to spot fossils, you can see “gastropods”. Those creatures crawled on the ocean floor many million years ago when seawater covered most of the land, currently known as Arabia.
